Summary
About the role
We’re looking for someone passionate about safety, compliance, and operational excellence to join our team as an LGV & MHE Fleet Compliance Specialist. In this role, you’ll help ensure our fleet is safe, legal, and available—so Tesco Distribution depots can deliver great service to our customers every day.
You’ll work closely with service providers, suppliers, and internal teams to maintain compliance and high standards, while fostering a culture of safety and collaboration.
This position can be based at Welwyn Garden City Head Office or Daventry Support Office, with travel across the UK and Northern Ireland to support our sites and projects.
You will be responsible for
- Collaborating with fleet manufacturers, maintenance suppliers, and distribution centres to deliver excellent service levels.
- Coaching and supporting LGV and MHE workshops to maintain compliance and health & safety standards.
- Monitoring and reporting compliance KPIs, sharing insights, and helping sites build action plans.
- Supporting Regional Engineering Managers during peak periods to ensure fleet availability.
- Conducting audits to maintain safe and legal operations across workshops.
- Managing fleet changes, including onboarding new assets and decommissioning old ones.
- Facilitating meetings, capturing actions, and driving next steps.
- Representing Tesco professionally during site visits and scoping meetings.
- Always acting with integrity and following our Business Code of Conduct.
You will need
- Technical knowledge of LGV and MHE.
- Strong leadership and supplier management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and influence stakeholders.
- IRTE or City & Guilds qualification.
- Team player with a collaborative mindset.
- Analytical skills to interpret data and use our Fleet Maintenance platform.
- Attention to detail and a drive for continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
