About the role:
Co-ordinate the integration of local bus and home to school transport functions for Powys County Council, ensuring that ‘value for money’ is firmly embedded in the principles of the service. Provide technical knowledge in planning and delivery of the function to meet both statutory and the Council’s standards and regulations. Lead the
public transport team, develop and implement policy and marketing, across the County to deliver an integrated transport service, including cross border.
About you:
• Be able to resolve problems or situations through the application of analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Be able to provide advice to the Council on the provision of local bus services.
• Work in an agile manner across the council in a busy open plan office and out on site.
• Be able to prioritise resources and workload with colleagues and work
collaboratively to maximise opportunities.
What you will do:
1. To lead the provision/delivery of local bus services in Powys and to
ensure compliance with all appropriate legislation and associated regulations, policies and procedures.
2. To ensure all supplier invoices for local bus services are administered in line with relevant Council and Welsh Government contract conditions.
3. Ensure that suppliers are providing these services in accordance with
contract specifications and are delivered in accordance with the relevant legislative requirements
4. Assist with the delivery of key transport infrastructure projects (capital and revenue) that supports Welsh Government and TFW aspirations, enabling innovation and enhancing the customer experience within local communities.
5. To ensure that the provision of all passenger transport services are
regularly reviewed and that the service provision is delivered effectively and efficiently, so that the service meets the needs of our service users and communities and meets the requirements of the Equalities Act 2010.
6. To provide support and where appropriate deputise for the Passenger Transport Manager, and to work with other service managers and team leaders across the council
