Location: Various. Hybrid working and working across various sites in Greater Manchester. Named base is GMFRS Fire Service Headquarters, Swinton

About the Role

As Prevention & Education Trainer, reporting into a Prevention & Education Training Officer, you will be responsible for the delivery and quality assurance of Prevention training and learning programmes. You will be a key participant in the creation and delivery of Prevention training to a variety of audience and you will take the lead on some projects.

You will support Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service’s overall strategic goals relating to Prevention by ensuring people are trained to high standards.

Tasks will include:

  • Developing innovative training resources for face-to-face delivery, online or virtual learning
  • Work with specialist teams to develop and deliver training
  • Deliver training to a breadth of audiences
  • Be involved with the coordinating training to a breadth of audiences
  • Actively promote quality assurance and improvement packages
  • Administrative duties relating to training

This role is available as a secondment opportunity if your Director of service area supports secondments.

About you

Ideally you will have previous experience of developing creative resources and delivering training to a wide range of groups. But vitally you will have the confidence and skills to deliver fresh and innovative sessions.

You will need to evidence in the recruitment process you have:

  • Excellent teaching or training skills with ability to work with a range or audiences
  • Ability to use a range of technology mediums in resource development and training delivery
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills both orally and in writing
  • The ability to work on your own initiative, organise workload and time effectively
  • Ideally subject matter knowledge of several Prevention topics which may include but are not restricted to Fire Safety in the Home, Home Fire Safety Assessments, Safeguarding, Prevent (radicalisation), Road Safety and Water Safety.
