Summary

Role Overview

The Floor Manager is responsible for leading the daily operations of the restaurant floor, ensuring seamless service delivery and exceptional guest experience in line with 5-star standards. This role requires a hands-on, confident and guest-focused leader with a strong ability to motivate the team, maintain service excellence, and drive both operational and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Service Quality

  • Ensure consistent delivery of refined, attentive and personalised guest service.
  • Welcome guests and maintain strong visibility on the floor during service periods.
  • Resolve guest concerns and complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of menus, beverages, wine pairing and venue offering to confidently guide guests and support the team.

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee the set-up, service and close-down of the floor to company standards.
  • Ensure the restaurant environment is immaculate and presentation is always to 5-star standards.
  • Monitor reservation flows, table turns, pacing and floor plans to support a smooth, efficient operation.
  • Work closely with kitchen and bar teams to maintain synchronized service.

Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, coach, train and develop present Floor Supervisors including all front-of-house team to deliver high performance and service confidence.
  • Conduct daily briefings, ensuring the team are informed, prepared and motivated.
  • Support onboarding and continuous service training aligned to brand standards.
  • Lead by example in conduct, communication, grooming and professionalism.

Commercial & Compliance

  • Support achievement of revenue and cost targets through upselling, efficiency and smart labour planning.
  • Ensure all compliance standards are upheld including licensing, food safety, health & safety and company policies.
  • Assist with stock control, ordering and inventory processes where required.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience in a luxury or 5-star hospitality environment
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to motivate and influence teams positively.
  • Excellent guest engagement and conflict resolution skills.
  • High level of personal presentation and professional communication.
  • Confident knowledge of premium beverage, wine and food service.
  • Flexible schedule and ability to work evenings/weekends as required.
