Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Catering Assistant to join our team in Petworth, United Kingdom. As a key member of our catering staff, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional food service to our clients.
- Assist in food preparation, including washing, peeling, and chopping ingredients
- Set up and maintain buffet lines, ensuring food items are replenished and presented attractively
- Serve food to customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
- Assist with inventory management and stock rotation
- Follow all health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and hygienic work environment
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service operations
- Assist in special event setups and teardowns
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries and special requests
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to improve service quality
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Food handling certification (e.g., ServSafe) required
- Previous experience in catering or food service preferred, especially in educational settings
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations in food service
- Basic culinary skills and understanding of food preparation techniques
- Familiarity with dietary restrictions and food allergies
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Outstanding customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Team player with the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse environment
- Flexible schedule, including availability for evenings and weekends as needed
