We are looking for a professional, confident Ward Manager (RMN) who can lead, inspire & oversee the delivery of the very best care at Cygnet Churchill.

You'll be working 40hours a week (9am - 5pm) Monday - Friday.

Juniper Court at Cygnet Churchill is a 17 bed male mental health acute service. The service provides a safe and stabilising environment for men who are experiencing an acute episode of mental illness and require an emergency admission.

Cygnet Churchill, in south London, is an inpatient mental health hospital for men. Cygnet Churchill has four wards including two emergency acute admissions services (Juniper Court and Palm Court) and two high support inpatient rehabilitation (level 2) services (Elm Court and Mulberry Court).

Your day-to-day…
• Provide suggestions, proposals & recommendations to the Hospital Manager aimed at the continued development of the ward
• Contribute & participate in planned visits to the ward by professional visitors
• Initiate & maintain a monitoring system in relation to professional nursing practice at unit level, including pin numbers & the current registration of all qualified staff
• Ensure that the evaluation of service delivery is user (i.e. patient, carer & family) based
• Advise non-clinical staff within the hospital on management of patients with mental illness
• Ensure patients’ rights to confidentiality are respected & that Cygnet Health Care & professional policies are adhered to.

• Committed to delivering improvement strategies across all aspects of clinical service provision
• Familiar with an in-patient setting
• Experienced in managing change, leadership initiatives, motivating & developing others
• Open, compassionate, honest & resilient
• Capable of undertaking audits, developing, following-up & ensuring completion of action plans
• Well-informed of the Mental Health Act & the latest nursing practices
• Focused on patient recovery to monitor, manage & reduce risk.
