Summary

The Head of Sustainability and Fleet has leadership responsibility for the delivery and management of the sustainability strategy, including initiatives such as the Government Fleet Commitment, that support existing and new operational delivery models. The post holder is required to provide the professional leadership, support and advice and guidance expected of an experienced Civil Servant whilst supporting the delivery of estates and operational strategies, as well as other government and DVSA strategies.

As a member of DVSA’s Corporate Senior Leadership Team, the Head of Sustainability and Fleet will lead the sustainability team successfully through:

Delivering on agreed outcomes of the sustainability strategy, translating vision to operational plans;
Finding new ways of increasing DVSA’s sustainability activity, mobilising and inspiring colleagues to deliver;
Increasing the sustainability capability across the organization, and embedding sustainability practices into policy and decision making
Engaging with wider government sustainability network and stakeholders to align DVSA strategy and activities with Government expectations;
Leading on our Government Fleet Commitment to transition all fleet to EV by the end of 2027;
Lead fleet policy across the organization, including a holistic look at business travel and vehicle requirements and refresh of policies
Leadership of a small team, ensuring outcomes are reached in the most efficient and effective way;
