What its like to work for Open Road
Join a passionate team transforming lives across Essex. Open Road provides drug and alcohol treatment services and offender support services across Essex & Kent including a range of interventions that deliver mentoring, advice and information programmes. Accredited with Investing In Volunteers, our mission is to empower a diverse range of individuals, families and communities to lead healthy and more meaningful lives, free from addiction, offending behaviour and disadvantage, to ensure healthier, happier lifestyles.

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced and passionate Clinical Treatment & Quality Lead to join our senior management team and shape the future of treatment quality at Open Road.

This role leads on clinical governance, psychosocial model development, and quality improvement across all Open Road services. You’ll ensure our interventions are consistent, safe, recovery-focused, and evidence-based — empowering staff to deliver the very best support to our clients.

You’ll develop and embed treatment pathways, lead audits and incident learning, and champion reflective practice and supervision across the organisation. Working closely with managers, practitioners and partners, you’ll drive continuous improvement and innovation across our services.

About You

You’ll bring senior-level experience in treatment delivery and quality assurance, with:

Significant experience in psychosocial treatment or mental health/substance misuse services.
Strong understanding of clinical governance, audit, and incident review.
Ability to translate evidence and learning into practical service improvements.
Excellent communication and influencing skills to lead change across teams.
Commitment to person-centred, trauma-informed, and recovery-focused practice.
A relevant qualification (e.g. psychology, counselling, social work, or health/social care) is essential, along with a collaborative leadership style and a passion for quality and improvement.

Experience in the voluntary, health or public sector — and an understanding of the power of lived experience and co-production — would be an advantage.

Why Join Open Road?

25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays and a day off for your birthday.
Health & wellbeing app with GP services, e-gym and mental health support.
Royal London pension & death-in-service benefit.
Tailored training and development opportunities.
A supportive, values-driven team where your work truly changes lives.
This is a rare opportunity to shape the quality and safety of life-changing services across Essex and beyond — in a supportive, values-driven organisation where innovation and learning are celebrated.

If you’re ready to lead with purpose and elevate treatment excellence, we’d love to hear from you.

We welcome applications from people seeking flexible working. Regular on-site presence is needed, but we’ll consider flexible arrangements where possible. This role is subject to a basic DBS check.
