Summary

Job title: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Primary School in LS29
Start Date: January 2026
Contract: Full-time, until July 2026
Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm (with 30-minute lunch break)


We are working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Burley-in-Wharfedale, LS29 who are seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 pupil on a bespoke timetable. The pupil is a bright and engaging child who responds well to positive relationships but finds a larger class environment challenging. The school has introduced a tailored approach, including a personalised workspace, reward systems, and behaviour strategies, and now requires consistent 1:1 support to help them succeed.


About the Role:

  • Provide individualised support to the pupil throughout the school day.
  • Follow a bespoke timetable designed to meet their needs.
  • Help the pupil stay on task, regulate emotions, and engage positively with learning.
  • Work closely with the SENCO, learning mentor, and leadership team.
  • Support the school in the EHCP application process.


What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN (ADHD experience desirable).
  • Confidence to build a strong, trusting relationship while maintaining firm boundaries.
  • Ability to implement behaviour strategies and keep the pupil focused.
  • Calm, patient, and adaptable approach.
