Job Description:
Overview
Simpsons London is a well- established Bespoke Furniture and Mirror manufacturer known for high-quality craftsmanship and excellent customer service. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a practical and reliable Van driver/Fitter to join our friendly workshop team in Ongar. This role is a varied position combining van driving, furniture installation at customer sites, and assisting with general bench work in the workshop. You will be an important representative of our company when working in customer's homes and commercial environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Safely drive a company van to deliver bespoke furniture to London and surrounding counties
• Install and fit furniture and mirrors at customer locations (training provided).
• Safely handle furniture and lift furniture when loading and unloading
Skills
• Communicate clearly with customers and operation teams.
• Carry out basic vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness.
• Assist workshop staff with bench work and general production tasks (training provided)
• Must be over 30 years old (insurance requirement)
• Full UK driving licence
• Comfortable with heavy lifting
• Experience with furniture installation is an advantage.
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Able to work independently and as part of a small team
• Practical, hands-on approach
