Summary

This is an exciting career opportunity to join, and supervise, an experienced team working with people who use substances in the city of Manchester. We are recruiting a Senior Social Worker for the Substance Misuse Team

Candidate must be able to apply social work skills and practice working primarily with citizens who are seeking support with their substance misuse.

The existing teamwork in a variety of settings Including working alongside commissioned treatment services and partners in Probation. This will include work with tier 4 services throughout the country.

The Team work with a diverse citizen base, primarily​working towards the long-term aim of abstinence and recovery, you will also where appropriate work with citizens who are change resistant providing direct social work support

As the SSW you will role model and lead ethical and evidence-based practice, focusing on the experience for people who use services. You will be a specialist lead to the team, providing advice and consultation on risk, safeguarding and complex needs. You will also provide professional oversight of the cases held in the team and provide professional accountability for complex decision making and work collaboratively with the multi- disciplinary team to establish safe and effective ways to work with people.

To supervise the process of the positive assessment and planning of individual packages of support for service users and carers.
To ensure all work is carried out in line with the appropriate guidelines, policy and procedures.
To promote independence and wellbeing of adults of working age and/or older people: to assist social inclusion and valued community presence and to enable the widest possible expression of chosen lifestyle.
The candidate must be able to work with a chaotic stigmatized service user group and work in variety of setting.
