Summary

Commercial law firm are seeking a motivated and detail-driven Employment Solicitor to join their office in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity for a NQ solicitor looking to forge a career within employment law or perhaps a more experienced junior lawyer looking to make a move and develop their expertise in claimant litigation and settlement agreement work within a supportive and highly regarded Employment department.

About the Role

This is a hybrid role, working three days in the office and two days from home following successful completion of probation.

You will manage a varied caseload of employment matters under the supervision of a Partner, with a strong focus on claimant litigation and advising on settlement agreements. You will be involved in all stages of case handling—from initial instruction through to file closure—ensuring client care of the highest standard.

This role is ideally suited to solicitors with NQ–3 years PQE with experience in claimant employment work and solid knowledge of the employment tribunal process. However candidates who fall outside of this experience who can demonstrate the relevant skills and experience will still be considered.

Key Responsibilities

- Managing a caseload of client employment matters under supervision
- Handling files from initial instruction through to archiving, in line with firm procedures
- Obtaining and preparing documentation for files
- Billing files and securing payment from clients and third parties
- Responding to client enquiries and providing exceptional client care
- Supporting other fee earners within the Employment team
- Advising clients on the terms and implications of settlement agreements

Experience & Qualifications

- Minimum 6 months’ experience in a similar role
- NQ – 3 years PQE or equivalent relevant experience
- Current Practising Certificate (for qualified applicants)
