The Role

Duty times: 8.15am -8.50am and 15.10 - 15.40 (5.25 hours per week) Monday- Friday



Our school crossing patrols provide a valuable service to the local community by ensuring that children and adults can cross the road safely on their route to and from school.



Your duties will include:

· Ensure safe road crossing for children and pedestrians during patrol times

· Stop traffic using the official ‘STOP’ sign

· Conduct pre-duty health and safety checks of the crossing site

· Report any hazards, equipment issues, or site concerns to the Patrol Officer

· Wear and maintain approved uniform and equipment

New recruits receive full training to ensure they feel confident and fully prepared to carry out this vital role safely and effectively.



A DBS is required for this role, the cost of which is met by North Yorkshire Council.
