Point of Care Testing is a vital pathology service across multiple clinical areas of the Trust.

Across 25 years the service has continually evolved to meet the changing landscape and needs of the Trust as it expands whilst meeting with clinical service requirements.

This means as part of the journey towards Pathology Maturity we aim for UKAS accreditation for the service. We have a need for a permanent dedicated quality role within the team to deliver this aspirational service goal.

We are looking for an experienced Biomedical Scientist with relevant knowledge and skills to join our team in the role of Quality Lead for the this journey and towards the next steps beyond.

You would join an experienced, forward thinking, dynamic, multicultural team with expertise in pre-analytics and a wide range of POCT devices across multiple disciplines.

Responsible as lead Healthcare Scientist for a specialist area

Practice as the Quality Lead for Point of Care Testing, promoting Quality within all areas of the Department.

Demonstrate expertise in quality and risk management.

Be the key member of the department, who promotes, implements, audits and maintains the quality management system.

Apply modern methods of quality management and process control to ensure an effective service in terms of clinical governance and risk management.

Assist in the achievement of accreditation of the service and ensure continued compliance to ISO 15189 as accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS).

Support the team to ensure the continuous improvement and development of laboratory services

Maintain and promote professional image of CUH Trust.
