Summary
We are seeking a SEND Learning Support Assistant with experience of working with children with complex needs to join our team at Sythwood Primary and Nursery School, part of Bourne Education Trust.About Sythwood Primary and Nursery School
Sythwood is a larger primary school, of around 550 children. It provides education from two-year-olds to the end of year 6. Sythwood celebrates children and staff from a range of ethnicities and cultures. Around 60% of children learn English as an Additional Language. Sythwood is a truly inclusive school. The number of children with additional needs is higher than average. The significant areas of needs are: Moderate Learning Difficulty, Speech, Language and Communication and Vision Impairment. The school has a Specialist Centre for children with Vision Impairment. The proportion of pupils known to be eligible for Free School Meals is above average.
The school motto, "Be Ready, Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Your Best," is interwoven throughout our curriculum. It is the language we use, the behaviours we model and expect and the aspirations we hold. We believe that an effective curriculum offers the knowledge and cultural capital to succeed in life; our students leave Sythwood suitably equipped to become interested and interesting adults, able to contribute positively to the well-being of their community and to wider society.
We are fortunate at Sythwood to be based on a large area of land with truly excellent facilities. Each phase is in a separate building with a communal assembly and dining hall. We have a diverse Copse, where children learn forest skills; an outdoor gym; games area and much more.Contract: Term time, Fixed term contract until 31 August 2026.
