Summary

Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) is a distinctive, unique institution, rooted in the Liverpool City Region and with a global presence. Our students and staff, past, present, and future, are the beating heart of our city and can be found in every corner of every industry and community. We couldn't exist anywhere else and have shaped the city in which we belong. Working with the people of Liverpool to improve lives and support communities is at the heart of why we were founded and why we exist today.

The School of Nursing and Advanced Practice has been committed to advancing developments in health and social care for over 25 years, tracing our origins back to 1991 when the Liverpool School of Nursing and Midwifery joined with Liverpool Polytechnic. Today, we continue to strive to tackle health inequalities and social exclusion and deprivation in local communities and beyond, through our undergraduate and postgraduate curricula, along with a growing programme of international partnerships and student opportunities.

We are now looking for a Lecturer in Practice Learning to focus on practice-based assessment and learning across all nursing programmes.

The Lecturer in Practice Learning both supports and enhances the expansion of the practice learning circuit in a sustainable and managed approach. You will also contribute to the design, delivery and evaluation of nurse education and clinical skills.

You will be enthusiastic and driven to improve the quality of the practice learning environment for our students on nursing programmes. You must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and have significant experience in supervising and assessing students in practice as well as experience of teaching at undergraduate level or delivering professional training.

We are seeking enthusiastic and committed individuals dedicated to providing an outstanding student experience who can demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

This is your opportunity to be a key contributor to providing a high quality, exceptional and transformative educational experience for students, and be part of our continued development. We believe that LJMU is an environment that will enable your successes to be recognised, celebrated and rewarded. You will join a team of staff with significant real-world experience and expertise from a range of disciplines which means that we are able to support your endeavours and provide mentorship as you grow in your role.

In return, we offer an excellent benefits package including generous annual leave entitlement, pension scheme, induction and development support as well as family-friendly policies.

This is an exciting time to join the university as we deliver the LJMU Strategy 2030 and its vision of LJMU as an inclusive civic university transforming lives and futures, by placing students at the heart of everything we do. Find out more about working at LJMU here.

If you feel that this is the role you have been looking for and your skills and experience can make a real difference at LJMU, we look forward to hearing from you.
