Job Title: Year 5 General Teaching Assistant with some SENLocation: St Helens
Start Date: January 2026
Contract: Full-time, 5 days per week
We are working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in St Helens seeking a dedicated Year 5 Teaching Assistant to join their team starting in January. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the classroom and support pupils in achieving their full potential. This is a General Teaching Assistant position with some SEN in the class.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide classroom support to the Year 5 teacher and pupils.
- Assist with small group and one-to-one interventions.
- Supporting children with SEN.
- Help create a positive and engaging learning environment.
- Support pupils' social and emotional development.
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience in KS2 is essential.
- Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive and enthusiastic approach to supporting learning.
- Available to start full time in January
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to obtain one
- Full right to work in the UK
