The successful candidate will have practical experience in electronic / electrical engineering but not necessarily with Radiotherapy equipment. Full in-house and manufacturer training will be provided to enable the individual to adapt their existing skills to our equipment.

The successful candidate will join a team of specialist engineers led by our technical manager to provide repair, maintenance and development services to the Arden Cancer Centre (ACC). We are located on the University Hospital site at Walsgrave which is on the edge of historic Coventry with convenient transport to the city and easy access to rural Warwickshire, the M6 and the M69 motorways.

Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.

Duties will include all aspects of the repair and planned maintenance of medical linear accelerators and ancillary equipment.

You will have proven experience as a service engineer, technician or similar role in healthcare, industry or the Armed Forces. We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate experience of fault finding and repair of complex electronic systems. A relevant degree or a technical qualification and proven experience is required.

Although previous experience with medical linear accelerators is not required appointment at b6 will require experience in a relevant area. Relevant areas include high power RF & microwave generation, x-ray generation, high vacuum systems, servo control, digital imaging, radiation detection and medical devices. Supplementary relevant areas that will be taken into consideration include computer networking and mechanical engineering. Applicants with less experience may be considered and initially appointed at a lower pay band.
