Key Responsibilities Team Leadership and Management Monitor and oversee the reception team to ensure high standards of work, addressing poor performance in conjunction with the Practice Manager as needed. Ensure the reception team uphold professional behaviour at all times and take appropriate action when behaviour falls below the expected standard. Assist with patient complaints relating to the reception team. Act as first point of contact for reception staff for any problems, concerns, or training issues. Serve as a new starter buddy during induction. Ensure reception staff perform their roles consistently and comply with policies and procedures. Oversee the scanning process and ensure completion in a timely manner. Delegate and supervise administrative processes as instructed. Maintain clinical rotas. Work closely with the Practice Manager to identify staff training needs and review performance regularly. Reception Duties Greet and direct patients professionally. Handle telephone and general enquiries. Make appointments and take requests for home visits (where applicable). Take messages and process all forms of patient communication. Maintain tidy work areas. Perform all forms of data entry and record-keeping, including scanning, prescriptions, and tasks. Assist in the onward management of patients as required. Support clinicians as a chaperone where needed. Provide administrative support to clinicians and practice managers. Follow Health and Safety procedures. Undertake any other duties considered appropriate for the role. Communication Deliver excellent customer service and effective communication with patients. Promote effective teamwork among staff. Provide clear communication to identify problems and implement solutions promptly. Ensure clear delegation of tasks to reception staff. Maintain strict confidentiality at all times. Experience and Qualifications Minimum 3 years experience as a GP practice receptionist essential. Minimum 2 years leadership experience in a GP practice essential. Proficiency with SystmOne medical system essential. Strong multitasking abilities and excellent written and verbal English. Understanding and adherence to strict confidentiality. Willingness to undergo a DBS check. Additional Information This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
