Summary
1. Obtain consent prior to giving care in accordance with Trust policies. 2. Work under the supervision of Registered Nurses to deliver a high standard of patient care in line with individual care plans. Competently undertake delegated duties, manage and prioritise own workload effectively, and contribute to safe, high-quality care by sharing knowledge and skills with other healthcare assistants to support team development. 3. Ability to use your knowledge and experience to undertake non-routine duties and an understanding to take decisions within your area of responsibility. 4. Carry out a range of clinical duties with minimal or no supervision, including but not limited to monitoring blood pressure, oxygen saturation, body temperature, pulse, respiration rate, and glucose levels. Collect specimens such as urine samples, skin scrapings, and wound swabs, ensuring all procedures are delivered to a high standard of patient care. This list is not exhaustive and may vary depending on the area of work. 5. Participate in patient assessment providing high quality holistic patient care and escalating concerns about patients to other clinical staff. 6. Practice safe standards of care to patients following Trust guidelines and policies and be able to concentrate for periods throughout the day with occasional interruptions. 7. Provide clinical care in accordance with the infection prevention and health and safety policies and procedures.
