Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with additional needs? A welcoming primary school near the Edgbaston area of Birmingham is seeking a dedicated TA to join their specialist resource base for pupils with Autism, non-verbal communication, and SEMH needs.

This is a rewarding, hands-on role within a well-established team, ideal for someone confident supporting children with complex profiles who need patience, structure, and emotional support throughout the school day.

What You'll Be Doing:
- Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support within the resource base
- Support children with Autism (including non-verbal pupils) and SEMH needs
- Use visual aids, PECS or Makaton (where appropriate) to aid communication
- Promote self-regulation and support positive behaviour strategies
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external specialists

What We're Looking For:
- A Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or an equivalent relevant qualification
- Previous experience supporting children with ASD, non-verbal needs and/or SEMH (essential)
- A calm, resilient and nurturing approach to behaviour and communication challenges
- Confident using communication tools and de-escalation techniques
- A team player who values consistency and routine

Why Work with Long Term Futures?
- Long-term, stable work with the potential for a permanent role.
- No day-to-day supply - full-time consistency in one school.
- A dedicated consultant to support you throughout your placement.
- Trial days instead of formal interviews to ensure the right fit.
- Access to free CPD training, including Understanding Autism, Behaviour Management, and further professional development/refreshers.

Next Steps - Our 4-Step Process
- Apply - Submit your CV via the application page.
- Initial Call - Our team will discuss your experience and preferences.
- Trial Day - Experience the school before making a decision.
- Start Work - If the school is the right fit, you're ready to begin.

All applicants will need a valid DBS and two references to be considered for a trial day.
