Summary
· To provide assessment, treatment, screening, health education services and advice working in accordance with the NMC Code of conduct · Provide nursing treatments to Patients independently or in participation with other clinical colleagues working to agreed protocols and guidelines · Provide general and specific health screenings to the Practice Patients within agreed protocols and guidelines referring to other members of the clinical team as necessary · To manage Patients with chronic diseases; running specific clinic sessions and maintaining robust call and recall systems · Participate in national screening work such as cervical cytology and meet targets delivering the national immunisation and vaccination schedule · Nursing procedures to include: o Wound management o Measuring blood pressure o Routine injections as prescribed o Cervical smears o ECG’s o Long term conditions-Asthma, Diabetes, COPD o Vaccinations and immunisations o Assisting with minor surgery and IUCD insertion o Cold Chain o Emergency equipment checks · Provide advice to Patients for general health care and minor ailments, with referral to another clinician as necessary · To participate in research within the Practice · To be responsible for the efficient running of the treatment room and equipment · To assist with the management of leg ulcers · Select, carry out and interpret results of specific tests · Ensure all statutory regulations (e.g. Infection control, Health & Safety, COSHH, etc.) are implemented and adhered to · To maintain accurate, comprehensive records of all consultations and treatments in the Patient’s notes, both written and computerised · Ensure accurate completion of all necessary documentation associated with Patient health care and registration with the Practice · Ensure collection of statistical information is required for regular and ad hoc reports · To have working knowledge of equipment used in the surgery · Ensure compliance with Patient confidentiality at all times in line with current legislation · Contribute to the development of new Patient services · Inform your line manager of any reported or suspected failings in the provision of care within the Practice
