Summary

SEN Teaching Assistant (SEMH) - KS1 to KS4
Location: Bromley / Orpington
Salary: £13.69-£15.69 per hour
Contract: Long-term with the potential to become permanent

Rikama Education Ltd. is seeking enthusiastic, motivated and compassionate Teaching Assistants to join a specialist SEMH school supporting pupils aged 5-18, many of whom are working up to one key stage behind. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine, life-changing impact on children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs and challenging behaviour.

What You'll Be Doing

1.Leading learning activities for individuals and small groups under an agreed system of supervision
2.Contributing to the planning and preparation of learning activities
3.Providing teachers with meaningful feedback on pupil progress, achievements and development
4.Supporting a strong team culture through ongoing professional development
5.Promoting inclusion and adapting support to meet diverse learning needs
6.Responding sensitively to pupils' physical, emotional and behavioural needs
7.Upholding school policies, including safeguarding and health & safety
8.Attending multi-agency meetings when required
9.Liaising with parents/carers regarding learning support and welfare
10.Participating in progress meetings to review pupil development and next steps
11.Covering lessons within your allocated subject when needed
12.Updating key pupil documents, including passports and progress reviews
13.Attending all CPD and training sessions
14.Contributing to curriculum planning
15.Championing a specialist area (e.g., dyslexia, ADHD)
16.Supporting or leading on whole-school events

Ideal Candidate

• Experience in an SEN setting, particularly SEMH, is highly desirable
• Calm, patient, and resilient approach
• Passionate about helping young people achieve their potential
• Team-focused, reflective and proactive
