Are you someone who loves helping others live life to the fullest? Do you want a role that’s meaningful, varied, and full of human connection? If so, this Personal Assistant position could be a perfect fit.
About the Role
We’re looking for a caring, positive and reliable female Personal Assistant to join a small, friendly support team. You’ll be helping a vibrant, outgoing disabled woman in her 30s who lives independently in a cosy two-bedroom bungalow in Rubery—alongside her lovable assistance dog!
Some days you may also be asked to join her on outings or occasional overnight stays, so every day brings something new.
About the Employer
Your future employer is independent, social and enjoys getting out and about. She values her independence and is looking for someone who can support her lifestyle with dignity, respect and a warm personality. You’ll also be supporting her wonderful assistance dog as part of her daily routine.
What You’ll Be Doing
Your role will be varied and rewarding, with tasks including:
Social & Community Support:
- Helping her stay connected with family and friends
- Attending medical appointments when needed
- Joining her at social events and helping her engage with the community
Personal Care:
- Supporting with all aspects of personal care each day
Domestic Duties:
- Grocery shopping, preparing nutritious meals and snacks
- General household tasks including cleaning, laundry and changing bed linen
Every day is different, and your support helps ensure she can live the independent lifestyle she chooses.
Who We’re Looking For
Someone who is:
- Flexible and reliable
- A confident driver with a full manual licence and their own transport
- Fun, friendly and outgoing
- Patient, kind, and caring
- Positive with a “can-do” attitude
- Open to learning (full Moving & Handling training is provided)
- Discreet and respectful of privacy and confidentiality
- Committed to promoting her independence at all times
Previous care experience is helpful but not essential—your personality and willingness to learn matter most.
Requirements
Essential:
- Full driving licence (manual)
- Own transport
- Confidentiality and professionalism
- Ability to build warm, trusting relationships
As part of the shortlisting process, we’ll ask you to fill out a brief questionnaire—nothing daunting! It’s simply to help us get to know you and to ensure the role is the right fit for everyone.
Successful applicants will need a DBS check and employment references.
This role is funded by the Local Authority and paid every four weeks.
