Role Details
As a Health & Safety placement student at Müller, you’ll play a key role in identifying and implementing improvements to the services provided by the Site Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) function.
This opportunity will help you develop your analytical and problem-solving skills while making a meaningful impact on site culture. You’ll support the development and implementation of the site’s Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) plan, aligned with Müller’s strategic goals. By promoting a positive EHS culture, you’ll help guide the business in maintaining legal compliance and fostering a safe, inclusive working environment.
Key skills and qualifications include:

Support HSE Systems: Assist in managing the Site HSE management systems, providing valuable support to colleagues and helping to streamline processes across the Müller business

Collaboration for Continuous Improvement: Work with dept. heads and front-line management to identify continuous improvement opportunities in on our site, both for immediate (tactical) and future (strategic) enhancements.

Operational Support: Provide functional support in priority areas, including monitoring KPIs, reporting, statistical analysis, and performance tracking.

Site Improvement Project: Lead impactful projects based on sites identified needs and demonstrate tangible improvements.

Innovation and Problem-Solving: As part of a small, collaborative team, bring forward new ideas ad solutions that can positively impact the business

Professional Development: Interns will also gain accredited Safety and Environmental qualifications during the programme, equipping them with a solid foundation for a future career in health, safety, and sustainability.

By developing an intern at Droitwich — our largest operational site — we are equipping them with exposure to complex, high-volume safety operations. This experience will place them in strong contention for future HSE roles across the business, when opportunities arise. However, it’s important to note that such roles may be located at other sites nationally, and any future placement would depend on business needs and candidate mobility.
