Summary

Retail Assistant
Part-time - 29 - 35 hours per week
From £13.00 to £13.50 per hour depending on experience (plus annual bonus!)
Permanent job based in Exmouth, Devon

Are you friendly, reliable, and enjoy helping people?
We’re looking for a Retail Assistant to join our small, hardworking team — supporting customers with school uniforms, workwear, and helping out in our embroidery/DTF production workshop.

This is a hands-on, varied role where no two days look the same. One moment you’ll be helping a family pick out new school uniform, the next you might be loading embroidery machines or packing custom orders. If you like staying busy, learning new skills and working in a supportive team, you’ll fit in perfectly.

What you’ll be doing:
- Giving warm, helpful service to every customer
- Supporting parents and students with uniform sizing
- Operating embroidery and DTF printing equipment (training provided)
- Preparing, packing and checking orders to a high standard
- Keeping the shop clean, tidy and well-stocked
- Helping with stock, deliveries and general workshop organisation
- Using the till/EPOS system and handling click-and-collect orders

Who we’re looking for:
You don’t need loads of experience — what matters most is attitude. You’ll be great in this role if you are...
- Friendly, positive and customer-focused
- Someone who takes pride in accuracy and doing things properly
- Happy to learn new skills and use machinery
- Comfortable working in a busy, fast-moving environment
- Reliable and organised, with good attention to detail

Why join us?
- Competitive hourly rate between £13 to £13.50 per hour depending on experience
- Performance based bonus scheme
- Private medical insurance, with employee assistance programme (EAP)
- Commitment to provide 4 weeks worth of rotas in advance
- A genuinely supportive, down-to-earth team
- Practical skills training (embroidery, DTF, artwork setup)
- A role where your work really helps local families, schools and businesses
- A stable business with plans to grow

If you want a job where you’ll feel valued from day one and enjoy a mix of retail and hands-on production work, we’d love to hear from you. Our recruitment process will be an initial telephone interview followed by a final stage in-person interview, with the view of training and inducting our new team member in January!

We welcome applications from everyone. We’re committed to being a fair and inclusive workplace, and we’ll always make sure people are treated with respect and given equal opportunities to succeed.
