About the Role:
As our Senior Governance Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive company secretarial support within our Governance team. You’ll provide expert advice to Board and Committee Members, ensuring Plus Dane’s governance arrangements are robust, compliant, and support better outcomes for our customers.
Key responsibilities:
Advise and support Board, Committees, and Management Team on governance and constitutional matters.
Champion governance best practice, mentor junior colleagues, and influence senior leaders.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with Boards and Committees, providing timely and meaningful information for evidence-based decision-making.
Monitor legislative changes and ensure compliance.
Line manage the Data Protection Officer, ensuring a customer-focused and compliant service.
Lead the review and implementation of governing documents and governance-related policies.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging technology for greater efficiency.
Act as directorate lead for business continuity and represent Plus Dane to a broad range of stakeholders.
What You’ll Bring
Essential skills and experience:
Recognised governance or company secretarial qualification.
Experience in policy development, minute-taking, and supporting Board or Committee meetings.
Strong understanding of company law, regulatory requirements, and data protection.
Proven ability to build consensus and manage conflict among senior stakeholders.
Highly organised, flexible, and able to thrive in a rapidly changing environment.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and engagement skills.
Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Experience in a housing or regulated sector.
Experience implementing digital solutions for governance or compliance.

This is permanent role working 35 hours per week. Your main base will be either in our Liverpool or Congleton office.
You’ll be generously rewarded with a competitive salary and a great benefits package, including 35 days’ annual leave, plus bank holidays. This includes a 3-day Christmas closedown between Christmas and New Year and you have the option to buy up to 5 extra days annually.
