About the Role:
As Governance Manager, you’ll play a pivotal leadership role, ensuring the highest standards of governance, regulatory compliance, and assurance across Plus Dane. Reporting to the Director of Governance & Assurance, you’ll lead a talented Governance Team, supporting the Board, Committees, and Executive to deliver effective decision-making and accountability.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and develop the Governance Team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and ethical conduct.
Oversee statutory and regulatory compliance, governance frameworks, and key assurance processes.
Provide expert advice on governance, regulation, and data protection to senior leaders and stakeholders.
Manage Board succession, policy control, regulatory returns, and customer/stakeholder engagement.
Represent Plus Dane externally with regulators, auditors, and partners, maintaining our reputation for good governance.
What You’ll Bring
Proven track record in managing governance functions to professional standards.
In-depth knowledge of legal and regulatory frameworks for social housing.
Proven ability to develop policy frameworks and manage business continuity.
Expertise in data protection, insurance provision, and assurance reporting.
Experience of positively embracing and adapting to change by identifying, leading & managing change in line with organisational objectives.
Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Commitment to Plus Dane’s values and a customer-focused approach.
Experience of working with and reporting to Directors, Board and Committee’s.
Knowledge of the political agenda / current operating environment for social housing providers.

This is a permanent role working 35 hours per week. Your main base will be either our office in Liverpool or Congleton.
You’ll be generously rewarded with a competitive salary and a great benefits package, including 35 days’ annual leave, plus bank holidays. This includes a 3-day Christmas closedown between Christmas and New Year and you have the option to buy up to 5 extra days annually.
