Shop Manager
Starting salary from £28,000 per annum (plus a great benefits package)
Permanent, full-time position
Exmouth, Devon
We’re looking for a confident, organised and people-focused Shop Manager to help run our busy uniform and workwear shop, as well as oversee our embroidery and DTF production areas.
If you like keeping things running smoothly, enjoy supporting a team and can stay calm when things get hectic (especially during back-to-school season!), this could be a brilliant fit.
This role is central to making sure our day-to-day shop and production operations run well. You’ll lead a small team, keep quality high, and make sure customers get great service every single time. Your role will focus on people leadership, performance management, and operational excellence.
What you’ll be doing:
- Supervising staff across retail and production
- Organising daily tasks, managing workflow and meeting deadlines
- Supporting and covering the Trinity School uniform shop when needed
- Communicating with customers, schools and local businesses
- Ensuring top-quality embroidery and DTF work
- Handling tricky enquiries and custom orders
- Monitoring stock, supplies and machine upkeep
- Training new starters and supporting team development
- Keeping the shop and workshop clean, tidy and ready for trade
- Oversee stock control, merchandising, and compliance standards
- Ensure Health & Safety procedures are always followed
- Analyse store data to identify areas for improvement and growth
Who this would suit:
You’ll thrive in this role if you...
- Have managed or coordinated a small team before, within a sales / retail environment
- Enjoy staying organised and managing multiple priorities
- Are confident talking to customers, suppliers, schools and businesses
- Stay calm, positive and solution-focused during busy periods
- Take real pride in quality and great customer service
-Have experience in embroidery/DTF or garment decoration (this is just desirable!)
Most of all, we’re looking for someone steady, reliable and proud of doing things properly - a person the team can trust.
Why join us?
- A competitive starting salary of £28,000 per annum, with regular salary reviews!
- A performance based bonus scheme available
- Private medical insurance (PMI) with EAP service included
- A key role in a growing business, a great opportunity to grow with us!
- Supportive directors and a friendly team
- Real influence over day-to-day operations
- Opportunities to build skills in production, embroidery, DTF Printing and company planning
If you want a role where you can make a noticeable impact every day, we’d love to hear from you. The process for recruiting this role will be an initial telephone interview followed by a final in-person interview with a ideal start date of January, where full training and on-boarding will be provided.
We want our team to reflect the community we serve. We welcome applications from everyone and are committed to treating people fairly, respectfully and without discrimination at every stage of the process.
