We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Child & Adolescent Specialty Doctor to contribute to our inpatient team on Hercules Ward. As a key member of the team you will provide medical and psychiatric support to the ward.
The Trust has strong links with local universities and the consultant will contribute to the teaching and development of medical students. The Trust invests heavily into research, with a unique partnership with the University of Nottingham – The Institute of Mental Health brings together healthcare colleagues and academics to lead mental health research designed to improve diagnosis, treatment, and care.
Suitable candidates will be registered with a license to practice from the General Medical Council. Previous psychiatric or child and adolescent psychiatric experience is desirable. This position is also open to medical candidates with pediatric qualifications.

Cross-cover arrangements for annual and study leave will be arranged between the doctors based in these services.
The post holder will have the opportunity to work across the 7 day a week period – with flexibility, this can be offered on a voluntary basis to support junior or middle doctors’ rotas and remunerated separately.
The post holder may be required to carry out pre-admission assessments in other CAMHS bases across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. There will rarely be home visits as part of the MDT to aid assessment pre or post admission.
This is a 10 PA post based at the purpose built Hopewood site which opened in 2018. The Specialty Doctor will be employed by Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and will join the fifteen other NHS Consultants and two Academic Consultants in the CAMHS service.
