Summary
Charlotte Straker House is a respected and well-established residential care home in the heart of Corbridge, known for delivering high-quality, person-centred care. We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Domestic Assistant (24 hours per week) to join our team. In this important role, you’ll help ensure our home remains clean, safe, and welcoming for residents, staff, and visitors.
As a Domestic Assistant, you’ll be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the home. You’ll play a key role in creating a pleasant and hygienic environment that supports the health and comfort of our residents.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Cleaning residents’ rooms, communal areas, and bathrooms to a high standard
• Supporting infection prevention procedures
• Handling laundry duties, including washing, drying, and ironing
• Using cleaning products safely and in line with COSHH guidelines
• Reporting any maintenance or cleanliness concerns promptly
No formal qualifications are needed, but previous experience in a cleaning or housekeeping role (especially in a care or healthcare setting) would be an advantage. We're looking for someone who is:
• Reliable and takes pride in their work
• Friendly, respectful, and able to work around residents with sensitivity
• Organised, efficient, and pays close attention to detail
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
