An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the senior leadership team at Niddrie Mill Primary school in the capacity as acting principal teacher. In addition to a class teaching commitment, the acting Principal Teacher will have a whole‑school leadership responsibility for developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating key areas of the curriculum across the school as well as being an active member of the school leadership team.


There will be a need to keep up‑to‑date with current theories and practice relating to effective and inclusive learning and teaching, and to ensure that appropriate implementation occurs throughout the school. Working closely with the Headteacher, you will lead and model excellence in learning, teaching and assessment as well as lead professional learning for staff around pedagogy and curriculum innovation.

As part of the senior leadership team you will have a responsibility for modelling and supporting others to live out our refreshed school values of Aim High, Be Kind and Be Safe.

The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
