The Role & Responsibilities:
The Community Development Team is responsible for developing and managing relationships between Dover District Council, the community and external stakeholders. The team brings together professionals in Community Development, & Events, to support diverse and vibrant communities across the Dover District, proud of their identity and neighbourhoods, and with access to a wide range of community assets, opportunities, events and funding.
Community Development Officers bring a broad range of expertise to their role. This role will support Community Development officers across all projects & will lead on aspects of the inspire Project.
The role will include, but not be limited to the following responsibilities:
Provide support and assistance to Community Development colleagues across a wide variety of projects and events.
Deliver on all aspects of DDC’s Inspire project.
Carry out the completion of work required for Active Kent’s Every Day Active Scheme.
Any other reasonable duties that may be required from time to time.
To undertake the training required for the apprenticeship.
Who We Are Looking For:
The successful candidate will have the following:
- An interest in supporting local residents & the local community
- An understanding of project working
- To be able to interact confidently with colleagues and community members.
- A willingness to work collaboratively
- The ability to manage time and prioritise tasks.
- To have a proactive approach to challenges.
- To be competent in using Word, Excel, and online systems.
- Have GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (typically Grade 4/C or above).
- A willingness to work towards a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Community Development or Business Administration.
