Full Stack Developer
Location: Hybrid - Nuneaton and Remote
£35,000-£40,000 per annum DOE, plus car / car allowance, 33 days holiday, pension, life assurance, employee assistance programme,
wellbeing support, and flexible benefits scheme
About the Job
You’ll have an important part to play delivering high quality features and seamless integrations across our enterprise web
platforms.
Here at Unipart we don’t just have a way of working, we have The Unipart Way. It allows everyone in our team to pursue their own
personal and professional goals to a world class level, through Unipart's ‘From Gate to Great’ training and development program.
As a Full Stack Developer, you will own the day-to-day maintenance, uphold strict security, performance, and reliability
standards, and actively develop platforms such as Intranets and inward/outward-facing websites across varying CMS frameworks
(e.g., WordPress, headless, custom), integrations, and supporting services.
As part of your key responsibilities you’ll:
* Design, build, and deploy front- and back-end features (e.g., PHP/Node/JS, SQL), including implementing and maintaining system
integrations (e.g., ERP/CRM, SSO)
* Take primary ownership of all business-as-usual (BAU) maintenance, small enhancements, and defect fixes across intranet and
public-facing websites, adhering to agreed SLAs
* Maintain custom extensions, modules, and themes across multiple CMS stacks, following professional development practices like
Git-based workflows and semantic versioning
* Uphold strict security and compliance standards by running regular checks, promptly patching vulnerabilities, and enforcing
least-privilege access
* Focus on performance by meeting Core Web Vitals targets, optimising code, and monitoring uptime and error budgets
* Contribute to a defined quality and release process, including using CI checks, maintaining technical documentation, and
following defined rollback plans
* Work with the Development Manager on the product roadmap, prioritisation, and acceptance criteria, providing clear estimates
for delivery
* Decide implementation details and minor refactors; escalating scope shifts, architectural changes, and timeline risks
* Measure success by SLA adherence, release quality (defect escape rate), security posture, delivery predictability, and
tech-debt reduction
* Engage in weekly check-ins, maintain a rolling two-week delivery plan, produce a monthly report on releases/incidents, and
conduct quarterly reviews
About You
We’d love you to have the following skills and experience, but please apply if you think you’d be able to perform well in this
role!
* Proven proficiency in designing, building, and deploying features using front- and back-end technologies (PHP/Node/JS, SQL),
with a strong foundation in Web Development and Application Development
* Able to leverage diverse technologies, including Java, APIs, and data visualization platforms; knowledge of languages such as
JavaScript, C++, Python, and other popular languages is a significant advantage
* Expertise in maintaining custom extensions, modules, and themes across multiple CMS stacks and ensuring compatibility
* Ability to take primary ownership of all BAU updates, enhancements, and defect fixes, meeting agreed-upon service level
agreements (SLAs)
* Strong focus on security, including vulnerability patching, monitoring, and enforcing least-privilege access across platforms
* Experience in optimising code and infrastructure to meet performance targets (e.g., Core Web Vitals) and monitoring
uptime/error budgets
* Strict adherence to professional practices (Git, peer review) and proven ability to contribute to a defined quality and release
process (e.g., CI checks, rollback plans)
Our recruitment and selection process has been developed to ensure that it is consistent, fair and provides equality of
opportunity - all selection decisions are based solely on technical and behavioural competencies. We do not discriminate on the
grounds of race, colour, or nationality, ethnic or national origins, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, marital or
civil partnership status, pregnancy or maternity, disability, religion or belief, age or any other current or future protected
characteristic as defined in the current Equality Act of England and Wales. As an organisation we also promote an environment
which encourages diversity of characteristics and thought, where you feel included, safe and confident to be the best version of
yourself and do your best work every day.
