Academic Services is within the Directorate of Student and Academic Services and is responsible for a range of activities relating to academic administration and governance. The team manages a range of student processes, including registration, timetabling, assessment, academic appeals, academic progression and awards. Academic Services supports Academic Quality and Standards Committee, the Academic Leadership Group as well as School Academic Committees and Assessment Boards and handles student discipline and complaints for the University.
The University now seeks to appoint a Student Administration Officer on a permanent basis.
Reporting to the Student Administration Manager, the post holder will be responsible for creating and maintaining the accuracy of student records and managing the processes associated with our programme provision for our Trans-National Education (TNE) Partnerships and Abertay Online.
The post holder will maintain the programme information and the module information associated with each TNE partner institution. The post holder will provide secretariat support for University assessment boards, committees and task groups related to Student Administration.
In a technically challenging role, the post holder will work closely with other Student Administrative Officers to develop knowledge and expertise in all aspects of the student records processes and systems; ensure consistency; and support the work of Academic Services across all administrative areas as required.
A good level of knowledge and understanding of University student administration processes and procedures is essential. You will be communicating with students and staff in a variety of roles across the University and its TNE partner institutions so excellent organisational, administrative and communication skills are vital.
The post holder will work closely with other teams within the Directorate and wider University to ensure that a high-quality student experience is provided.
