You will be joining a well-established organisation operating across multiple sites. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring compliance with Health & Safety legislation and promoting a safe working environment for all employees.
Your new role
As a Health & Safety Officer, you will support the implementation of Health & Safety policies and procedures, ensuring legal obligations are met and the well-being of the workforce is prioritised. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing advice and guidance to managers, supervisors, and employees
- Policy setting and implementation
- Conducting Health & Safety inspections and investigations
- Completing risk assessments and action planning
- Assisting with internal audits and supporting external audits
- Delivering in-house training and coordinating external training
- Preparing reports and maintaining compliance records
You may also be required to work across different departments and locations as needed.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- NEBOSH General Certificate (essential)
- Degree in a relevant discipline (preferred)
- Relevant training qualification
- 3-5 years' experience in a similar role or demonstrable knowledge and ability
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
- Flexibility to meet business needs
- Driving licence and access to transport
Experience within the food industry will be advantageous.
