Summary

SEN Teaching Assistant - New SEN Secondary School

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a brand new secondary school, specialising in supporting students with complex needs.

We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to be founding members of our team for a new school that opened in September 2025 in the Chaldon, Surrey area.

Actual Annual Salary £23,210 - £24,818 (Dependant on qualifications and experience)

Hourly Rate £12.99 - £13.89 per hour
Hours 40 hours per week - Term Time Only
Working Pattern Start 8.15am. Finish Monday-Wednesday 4.45pm, Thursday 5pm, Friday 4pm
The Role: Making a Real Impact

This new specialist secondary school will cater to young people aged 11-16 who require support with social communication, emotional regulation, and sensory processing, often associated with Autism.

The core purpose of the Teaching Assistant is to provide high levels of support to ensure every student has the best opportunity to reach their full potential.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:
  • Supporting students with their learning across a personalised and exciting curriculum, allied to the National Curriculum.

  • Fostering the general wellbeing of students in a caring and safe environment.

  • Implementing positive behaviour management strategies, adopting a tailored approach for individual children.

  • Assisting with care needs from time to time, as required.

  • Working within a model that utilises small classes and a supernumerary multi-disciplinary intervention team.
