Summary

A Vacancy at Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust.

An opportunity has arisen for a specialist school nurse to help improve the School Nursing Support that we offer to the H3 Federation schools (Harmood School and Heath School); Gloucester House; and Robson House. These units provide education for the following groups of children who are at risk of not achieving positive outcomes:

· children and young people with special educational needs

· children and young people with emotional, behavioural and social difficulties who are struggling or who have been excluded from mainstream schools.

You will be supported by a skill mix team of school nursing professionals to deliver the ‘Healthy Child Programme From 5-19 years old (DOH 2009)’. The post holder will work in partnership with professionals from multiple agencies to meet the health needs of this specific population of children and young people, together with their families and the wider community where this is relevant

You will be responsible for the coordination of the health needs of any Camden children who are under a Child Protection plan who are not currently attending a Local Authority maintained school.

The nurse we are recruiting will have sufficient post registration experience in a children’s/paediatric setting to allow effective multi agency working in settings like the H3 Federation schools and Robson House.

The person will be experienced at working with diverse communities, and of working with children with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. Experience of supporting children with complex needs such as child protection and mental/emotional health issues is also essential.

If you would like further information about the post please contact School Nurse deputy Team Leader on 07590004439 / adewunmi.dawodu@nhs.net
