Summary
Participate in the full multi-disciplinary care of ophthalmic patients and their relatives, promoting the use of evidence based practice to facilitate clinical excellence. To improve patient centred care. The postholder can expect to take responsibility of own clinical workload within the department, including appropriate treatments in the outpatient department. Participate in departmental based continuing education activities and demonstrate maintenance of personal professional education. The postholder may be expected to work within other areas of the unit so that further experience may be gained, or to assist if the clinical situation or staffing levels demand. Initiate and maintain professional relationships with patients, relatives, carers and all other grades of hospital staff.
