Summary


Cambridge J2 is a 19 bedded ward , taking care of patients with respiratory infections. This will include Bipap, CPAP, chest drains, Optiflow, (High Flow Oxygen)Tracheostomies and Laryngectomy.

The ward team consists of 1 Ward Manager, 5 Band 6 sisters, 23 Band 5, 17 Health Care Assistants, 1 housekeeper and a Ward Clerk.

This team works well within the Multidisciplinary team, which incudes the Wards own consultants, 7 days a week, and a team of junior doctors

As a compassionate and committed Registered Nurse, you will provide safe and effective care to patients in one of a number of highly skilled areas:



Assist in planning, implementing and evaluating the care of patients

· Carry out investigative procedures in accordance with protocols

· Plan own workload prioritising effectively

· Provide support to health care assistants in delivery and maintaining high standards of care.

· Act as the patients’ advocate

· Liaise with all members of the multidisciplinary team

· Participate in planning effective, timely, and safe discharges

· Be clinically competent in all areas of advanced practice relevant to the post

· Provide training and support to new and junior staff in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.
