Summary
We are seeking a Maintenance Operative to support the efficient, safe and proactive upkeep of all Hylands event buildings and infrastructure. The successful applicant will carry out day-to-day repairs, planned and reactive maintenance tasks, compliance checks and routine inspections, ensuring all venues meet regulatory standards and remain fit for purpose. Working closely with the Hylands Management and Building Services colleagues, the successful applicant will help reduce reliance on external contractors, supervise on-site works, respond to urgent maintenance issues and maintain the estate’s reputation for exceptional presentation.
The ideal applicant will have practical handyperson skills, an understanding of building systems, and experience carrying out minor repairs, working safely with tools and equipment, and following health and safety procedures. The successful applicant will be methodical, organised, able to prioritise tasks, and confident working both independently and as part of a team. A commitment to delivering a high-quality service, strong communication skills and flexibility to work unsociable hours are essential. A driving licence is required, and maintenance-related qualifications or health and safety training are desirable .
The role is offered part time, 18.5 hours per week, worked over 5 days mainly mornings.
