About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and driven General Services Manager to lead the delivery of soft services at ESB HQ. This high-profile role will oversee cleaning, reception, mailroom, waste management, and other workplace services, ensuring operational excellence, exceptional client satisfaction, and a best-in-class workplace experience.
You will play a key part in ensuring contract compliance, driving continuous improvement, and supporting sustainability and ESG initiatives within a major corporate environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Delivery
- Oversee daily delivery of all soft services to ensure SLAs and KPIs are consistently met.
- Develop operational plans, schedules, and quality assurance processes.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Client Relationship Management
- Act as the main point of contact for ESB stakeholders.
- Build strong professional relationships and ensure proactive issue resolution.
- Attend client meetings and deliver performance reports and improvement plans.
Team Leadership
- Lead and support supervisors and frontline operatives across multiple service lines.
- Conduct performance reviews and identify training and development needs.
- Promote a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
Financial Management
- Manage budgets for labour, consumables, and equipment.
- Monitor costs and identify opportunities for efficiencies.
- Provide accurate forecasting and financial reporting.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure full compliance with Sodexo, ESB, and statutory requirements.
- Complete regular audits and inspections to maintain high service standards.
- Support and promote sustainability initiatives in line with client objectives.
Skills & Experience Required
- Strong background in soft services management within a corporate or large-scale environment.
- Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
- Excellent client relationship and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and quality assurance standards.
- Financial acumen with experience managing service budgets.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in soft services or facilities management.
- IOSH/NEBOSH certification desirable.
- Full clean driving licence (required for occasional travel).
