Summary
To be professionally and legally responsible for case load of complex patients with Eating Disorders as part of CAMHS. To provide highly specialist nutritional assessment and treatment for children and young people with Eating Disorders. Demonstrate a high level of clinical reasoning and work closely with the MDT and act as a clinical source of expertise. Prescribe dietary products and enteral feeds for children and young people with a wide range of therapeutic dietary needs. Receive and manage direct referrals from a range of professionals from primary and secondary care, including acute hospital wards, screening patients to identify how they may benefit from dietetic intervention. Provide comprehensive, holistic assessment and treatment using highly specialist clinical skills. This may be in a group or individual intervention as needed with other professional disciplines service providers agencies and families to ensure each patient family receives the specific support they need. Provide reports within the legal framework for Child Protection conferences Child in Need meetings and court. Develop guidelines and policies to improve the nutritional management of children and young people with Eating Disorders in Jersey. To interpret medical, biochemical and pharmacological information and incorporate into dietetic plans as appropriate. A high degree of motivational skills are required to support patients with behaviour change. Highly developed communication skills are required. Communication through interpreters may be required. One to one dietetic counselling, as well as group education to staff will be including in this post. To attend and participate in regular dietetic team meetings. To deliver dietetic care in accordance with Nutrition & Dietetic service standard organisational policies clinical governance National Professional Standards of Practice and the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) Standards of Conduct Performance and Ethics. Maintain appropriate, accurate and timely patient records in line with Nutrition & Dietetic service policy, GDPR HCPC BDA and Jersey Data Protection Law
