Summary

The Role.
We are looking for full-time permanent lecturers to join our Business team at NewVic sixth Form Centre. You will need to have experience teaching L1-to L3 vocational qualifications within the school of business. You should have a full teaching qualification, relevant teaching experiences and current Continues Professional Development (CPD) within the industry/sector.

Within your role you are expected to plan, deliver, assess and quality assure a range of subjects, whilst supporting students through their study programme including, English, math, work experience, industry placement and enrichment. You should be confident in working with parents and other departments to support learners to succeed.


Key responsibilities.


Plan, deliver, assess, and quality-assure engaging and industry-relevant teaching across Business programmes.
Deploy a wide range of student-centred learning strategies to maximise retention, achievement, and progression.
Contribute to curriculum planning, course design, module development, and the integration of digital learning resources.
Lead and support all aspects of work-based learning, including apprenticeships and employer-driven provision.
Undertake formative and summative assessment and use outcomes to enhance teaching effectiveness.
Deliver learner induction, guidance, pastoral support, and personal tutoring.
Maintain robust records, ensure compliance with internal and external quality standards, and contribute to audits and self-assessment.
Support marketing and external engagement activities, representing the College at events and liaising with schools, employers, and partner organisations.
Contribute to service planning, resource management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Promote high standards of professional conduct, safeguarding, equality, and customer service across all learner interactions.

Our Ideal candidate should have the following qualifications, skills and experience.


Full Teaching Qualification (DET/DTLLS/PGCE/Cert Ed or Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training or equivalent) or willingness to obtain qualification within 2 years
Degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience within the Business sector.
Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths.
Demonstrated experience teaching vocational Business qualifications to learners aged 16–19 and adults.
Proven ability to deliver high-quality, student-centred teaching and stimulate independent learning.
Strong communication, classroom management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced, evolving environment and contribute to team performance.
Competence in utilising digital tools and ILT to support learning, assessment, and administration.
Strong organisational and administrative skills, including maintaining accurate learner records.
Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity, health and safety, and continuous professional development.
