Summary
Business Development Manager - Hospitality
Salary: Circa £38,000 + Bonus

Overview:
We’re working with a well-established hospitality business seeking a driven, commercially minded Business Development Manager. This role is all about driving external sales, building long-term relationships, and ensuring strong cross-departmental communication to maximise revenue across all areas of the hotel.
Key Responsibilities
• Proactively promote the hotel to local, national and international markets.
• Develop and grow relationships with local corporate clients.
• Build strong links with local groups, organisations and charities to drive new business.
• Work closely with internal sales teams to maximise conversion and revenue.
• Oversee marketing output and ensure consistent brand messaging.
• Maintain and present sales reports to senior management.
• Coach and support internal teams to improve upselling and guest engagement.
• Conduct regular competitor analysis (SWOT) across comparable hotels and venues.
• Collaborate with the Revenue Manager to lead and attend regular sales meetings.
• Promote the hotel as a conference and events venue for all capacities.
• Build relationships with local schools to grow prom and graduation event business.
• Develop awards dinners, charity balls and large-scale event sales.
• Maintain strong relationships with existing bookers and key accounts.
• Host regular bookers’ events for conference and accommodation clients.
• Re-engage and convert lapsed customers and former bookers.
• Support the planning and promotion of the annual Calendar of Events, including sports dinners.
• Carry out any reasonable duties requested by senior management.
Requirements
• Proven sales experience within the hospitality sector.
• Understanding of PMS and channel management systems (Opera, OSEM/S&C or similar) preferred but not essential.
• Strong communicator with excellent organisational skills.
• Confident user of Microsoft Office.
• Ability to multitask, manage priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong diary management and attention to detail.
• Commercially aware with a proactive approach to identifying sales and revenue opportunities.
• Comfortable analysing numbers and using data to inform decisions.
