Summary
A busy riding school open 7 days a week providing lessons for all from 4 years upwards. We provide lessons for all levels from beginner to advanced. We are looking to take on another apprentice to become a valued member of our dedicated team. This apprenticeship is approx 16 months.
We are searching for a groom to join our team and assist with horse care, riding, instructing and coaching. You will carry out day to day care of the horses and equipment along with feeding and care of competition horses.
Duties will include but not limited to:
Care of horses and equipment
Mucking out
Feeding
Grooming
Tacking up
Assisting with lessons
Mounting and dismounting
Leading
Supporting riders to achieve their goals
Riding different types and levels of horses to maintain and improve training
Care and preparation of competition horses
Assisting with professionals such as vets, farriers and physiotherapists
Grooming at shows for the right candidate
Desired skills and qualities
Applicants MUST have previous experience with handling and riding horses. These skills are essential and must be shown on application.
Enthusiastic and dedicated
Desired qualifications
GCSEs grades A-C/8-4 in English and maths or equivalent desirable but not essential
Applicants must not already hold a level 2 or higher in Horse Care
Future prospects
The possibility of continued employment once finished for the right candidate
Training
Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment.
The applicant will be working towards a Level 2 Equine Groom Apprenticeship
The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.
The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship.

Applicants must be able to travel to work on time due to the workplace being based in a rural location with limited public transport
