As part of the production team, you will help transform raw sheet metal into high-accuracy finished parts using modern press brake machinery. Your work will support the delivery of reliable, fit-for-purpose products used in demanding environments.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Press Brake Setter with a strong background in setting and operating Amada press brake machines. You will be responsible for tooling setup, machine programming, test bends, and ensuring all components meet specification. Working closely with the wider fabrication team, you will help maintain efficient workflow, quality, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Read and interpret engineering drawings, job sheets, and bend instructions
* Set and operate Amada press brake machines - previous experience is essential
* Select, install, and align appropriate tooling (punches, dies, backstops)
* Program or adjust CNC/manual settings to achieve correct angles, radii, and dimensions
* Perform test bends and inspect initial outputs for accuracy
* Monitor production to ensure parts remain within tight tolerance
* Troubleshoot basic machine issues and perform minor adjustments
* Coordinate with cutting, punching, and assembly teams to support production flow
* Maintain a clean, safe, compliant working area
* Report tooling wear, machine faults, and potential process improvements
Skills & Experience Required
* Minimum 2 years' experience setting and operating Amada press brake machines
* Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
* Experience working with a variety of sheet metals (steel, aluminium, coated metals)
* Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
* Good understanding of bend allowances, spring back, and other forming principles
* Ability to work independently and as part of a production team
* Forklift or crane experience desirable but not essential
