Summary

Social Worker 1 2 & 3 - MASH
Job description
37 hours per week

Bridgend County Borough Council offers a great opportunity for you to further your social care career. We want the best social workers to join us - this is what our children and families deserve.

We are a reflective organisation that continuously builds on its strengths and is committed to the principle that the most effective way of improving outcomes for all Children, Young People and Families is through the provision of accessible, universal services. Join us and you will work in a rewarding environment where staff are valued.

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Social Worker to join the MASH (Multi-agency Safeguarding Hub) who is as committed as we are in working towards and achieving positive outcomes for children and families. The MASH work is close collaboration with partner agencies such as South Wales Police and Health in order to support families in line with the Social Services & Well Being (Wales) Act 2014, along with safeguarding our most vulnerable children.

Your role will be to support the progression of referrals by contacting professionals and families to ascertain what support is required and gather and analyse information. You will also be expected to support unqualified practitioners to do the same. You will be required to attend strategy meetings and, in some situations, you will be asked to undertake home visits.

We encourage applications from both experienced Social Workers and those in their first two years of service. In return you will receive a robust induction, regular supervision, additional support and mentoring where required. In Bridgend we are committed to the Signs of Safety practice model and full training will be provided to the successful applicant.

Additionally, you will be able to further your career with both development and promotional opportunities.

For further information surrounding the post please contact Rachel Hawkins MASH Team Manager on 01656 642320.

The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post.

Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.

An Enhanced with Childrens Barred list criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for this post.
