A well-established and proudly independent equine practice in Lincolnshire is seeking a full-time Veterinary Surgeon to join their growing team. Situated just 16 miles from the beautiful cathedral city of Lincoln, the practice provides a diverse and stimulating caseload across Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire, serving leisure, sports, and professional competition horse owners.
This role is ideal for candidates with two to three years of clinical equine experience, particularly in first opinion work, medicine, lameness investigations, and stud work. Recent graduates with a keen interest in developing their skills in these areas are also encouraged to apply.
About the Practice
The practice combines ambulatory services with clinic-based care and boasts excellent diagnostic and surgical facilities, including:
• Digital X-ray and ultrasound
• Dental equipment
• Shockwave therapy and PRP
• Gastroscopy and endoscopy
• In-house laboratory
The team works collaboratively with specialist referral centres, visiting experts, and advanced laboratories to provide gold-standard veterinary care. Experienced, proactive support staff ensure smooth daily operations, allowing veterinary surgeons to focus on delivering outstanding care.
The Role
The successful candidate will enjoy a varied and interesting caseload, including:
• Preventative healthcare
• Reproduction services
• Medical, orthopaedic, and poor performance investigations
• Standing surgical procedures
This position is well-suited to candidates with at least two to three years’ of equine experience, particularly those with a flair for sports medicine and/or reproduction.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver confident, compassionate, and high-quality clinical care to horses and clients
• Participate in a one-in-four out-of-hours rota (evenings and weekends)
• Work collaboratively within a small but growing team
• Maintain high professional standards in line with RCVS and VMD requirements
• Demonstrate strong organisational skills and a flexible approach to a dynamic workload
Candidate Requirements
• Full registration with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS)
• Full UK Driving License

Working Hours
