An exciting opportunity awaits on the stunning North Devon coast, where a thriving independent practice is seeking an experienced equine vet to join and complement its dedicated team.

This proudly independent, eight-vet equine practice boasts a fully equipped equine theatre, excellent inpatient facilities and a reputation for exceptional client care. The team values strong community relationships, clinical excellence, and a supportive, collaborative working environment.

While much of the work is ambulatory, the successful candidate will enjoy full access to a modern clinic for in-depth diagnostics and treatment. There will be opportunities to work alongside certificate holders in Equine Practice, Medicine and Imaging, as well as visiting surgeons, advanced dentistry specialists and longstanding stud experts. Case continuity is actively encouraged, and further study is fully supported to promote both professional development and job satisfaction.

The practice offers both first opinion and referral services, with an impressive range of equipment including a fully equipped operating theatre, inpatient facilities, video endoscopy and gastroscopy, digital radiography, high-quality ultrasound and arthroscopic “key-hole” surgery. It is also a BEVA-accredited AI centre and provides advanced and routine dentistry services.

Vets are supported by a dedicated team of equine nurses and technicians who provide round-the-clock assistance both in the clinic and on the road. An exceptional administrative and support team ensures smooth day-to-day operations and helps create a positive, well-organised working environment. As part of a wider practice with a large farm animal division, the team benefits from the social and professional advantages of a multi-branch group while retaining the warm, close-knit atmosphere of an equine-only team.

Located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the role offers an enviable lifestyle with easy access to the beaches of North Devon and Cornwall, as well as the wild beauty of Exmoor National Park. The region is renowned for its world-class surf, breathtaking landscapes, Exmoor hunts and family-friendly community with excellent local schools.

The practice offers a four-day working week as standard, with both part-time and full-time options considered. A generous salary of up to £53,000 DOE is available, with a strong preference for applicants with surgical experience.

Additional benefits include:

• BEVA, VDS and RCVS fees covered
• Practice vehicle provided
• Generous annual leave
• Excellent 1:7 rota with a three-day weekend following a weekend shift
• Private medical insurance
• Employee assistance programme
• Enhanced parental leave
